ANDREW HOLMES
LICENSING DIRECTOR
I joined Footprint Music in April 2021 after working for over twenty years as a lawyer in the TV distribution business, first at Turner Broadcasting (now WarnerMedia) and, more recently, as Director of Legal Affairs at NBC Universal. In both of these roles I was exposed to a wide variety of media and commercial law issues, with the focus primarily on content acquisition and distribution. However, music rights has been a recurring theme, with collecting society licensing being one of my key responsibilities throughout.
I was pleased to have the opportunity to join Footprint, having known and worked with the team for many years. As Licensing Director, Iām primarily responsible for reviewing and negotiating licence agreements and other contracts and keeping my eye out for changes in the legal framework for music licensing and other regulatory matters.
Away from the office I have a keen interest in history and photography. I have co-authored a number of books on the First World War and regularly contribute to other publications and podcasts on the subject and visit the battlefields of France, Belgium and further afield whenever I can.
